君越eAssist在传统发动机起动机的位置上，加装了一个由皮带驱动的启动电机（简称BAS系统），并采用液体冷却。在车辆加速时，电动机会给予辅助，提升加速性。而刹车或收油时，BAS系统又会收集和储存丧失的能量。此外，BAS系统的扭矩输出还可以减缓引擎启动时带来的震动，即便是在短时间内再次启动引擎运行也很平顺。

除了混合动力技术外，君越eAssist同时装备了启动/停止技术，当发动机熄灭时，电池可提供空调系统、娱乐系统和灯组所需要的电力。而制动能量回收系统在回收制动能量时还能够产生20 hp的再生马力，而老版本则只能提供3hp和7hp。当汽车停下来或者处于滑行状态时，发动机将自动熄火，当驾驶员重新塔下油门踏板便自动起动发动机。

在常规动力方面，君越eAssist将基于国内君越刚刚换装的2.4升SIDI直喷引擎打造，并可以提供最大功率137kW/6200rpm，最大扭矩240Nm/4800rpm。相比上一代2.4升发动机最大功率提升9.6%，扭矩提升6.7%，混合工况百公里油耗下降了2.2%，令车辆0-100 km/h加速成绩提高3%以上。并且相比同类直喷发动机，SIDI发动机还可以适用国内93号汽油，进一步降低了使用成本。
